Lake Oswego Remodel
This one-story 1500 sf fixer was a perfect start for a retiring couple wanting downsize and creating an easy to maintain home for aging-in-place. The architecture was inspired by the mid-century modern aesthetic to celebrate the low-slope roof structure and open plan. Daylighting and windows took prime consideration in order to take advantage of views and extend the living spaces to the exterior. The clients are avid art collectors, so windows were arranged for balanced natural lighting with artwork displayed prominently in each room. The interior of the house was completely demolished with only portions of the exterior stud walls and the truss roof structure remaining. The exterior was completely redesigned and updated. An interior designer selected paint colors, tile, and wood veneers, and brought the Asian flare to the design.
