Mt Tabor
Remodel
Project goals included opening the kitchen to the living and dining rooms, utilizing an unused main floor bedroom, providing a better connection to the backyard, and building a safer stairway to the basement. The entire rear of the house is reconfigured: the kitchen is now open to the living, dining, and a new family room. the kitchen and nook are reconfigured to provide a larger, more centralized kitchen workspace and to open the rear of the house to the backyard. While updating the house for an open style of living, the original character of the house was maintained by matching the window styles, the use of exposed frame natural cherry cabinetry, and period detailing. The client selected the finish materials and paint colors.
